Freebase is the first product release based on the Metaweb platform. It's a publicly accessible database containing any and all type of information. Currently Freebase is under invitation-only alpha.
Since people without an invitation code will only see the sign in page, we chose to display whimsical Creative Commons licensed images from Flickr and inspirational quotes from historical figures. The images rotate between 5 selected quotes and pictures.
